PORTAGE, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – A Portage Public Schools student suffering only minor injuries when she was struck by a vehicle while attempting to cross the roadway Wednesday morning, May 10.
Portage Police and Fire personnel were sent to the scene at the intersection of West Milham Avenue and Constitution Boulevard around 8:30 a.m.
Preliminary investigation along with eye witness accounts indicated the vehicle was traveling eastbound through a green traffic signal when the 14-year-old female student tried to cross, but was struck by the vehicle.
The victim was taken to Bronson Hospital for minor injuries due to medical protocol as parents were not on scene.
Both Parents and Portage Public School Administration were notified of the incident.
