RICHLAND, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – Some power line replacement is taking place on M-89 east of Richland this week on Wednesday, May 10, and Friday May 12.
The Kalamazoo County Sheriff’s Office says a couple sections of the highway will be closed for brief periods of time to allow crews to complete their work.
The first session will happen on Wednesday at Noon just west of 37th Street where the road will be closed temporarily for replacement of power lines. The road will be completely closed for about 15 minutes while crews place a line across the roadway.
After a short break to allow traffic to clear, the roadway will be shut down for a second time for about 15 minutes for a second line.
And the second session, which officials say as part of the same project, will happen at M-89 West of 38th Street on Friday at 10 a.m. for the same process of installing new power lines.
Deputies will be on site to assist with traffic control and urge all motorists to approach both areas with caution as the work is taking place.
