PORTAGE, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – Portage Department of Public Safety police are investigating an incident where several vehicles traveling westbound on I-94 in the area of Sprinkle Road and Portage Road were struck by pieces of concrete.
Public Safety officers responded to the area around 12:25 a.m. on Sunday, May 7 and found multiple vehicles, including a school bus, a semi-truck, and at least one passenger vehicle, pulled off to the side of the freeway, all with damage to their windshields.
On scene, officers spoke with the drivers of the vehicles and searched the construction zones both at Sprinkle Road and Portage road in hopes of finding possible suspects who may have been tossing the pieces of concrete from the overpasses onto the freeway.
No suspects were located during their search.
While there were no significant injuries, several occupants of the school bus were treated at the scene by medical personnel.
