KALAMAZOO, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – In the midst of their search for a new Superintendent, the Kalamazoo Pubic Schools Board of Education will meet tonight to handle other business for the district.
On the agenda are proposals to change the names of two elementary schools that have had magnet themes.
District officials says it has been a mouthful to say The Woodward School for Technology and Research, especially for the very young students. The proposal is to change it back to Woodward School, its original name.
The Edison Environmental Science Academy has been rebuilt and parents petitioned the board to simplify the name to Edison Academy.
If approved, that will be the sign on the new building when it opens this fall.
