KALAMAZOO, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – Kalamazoo City Commissioners approved a contract with their new City Attorney last night.
Aaron Leal currently holds the same post in the city of Royal Oak, Michigan. He will get an increase in his salary to $173,000 and some other perks, including $20,000 to cover moving expenses, five weeks vacation, and a monthly stipend to cover the cost of a car.
Mayor Dave Anderson says his first day on the job will be in late June, about a month after current City Attorney Clyde Robinson is set to leave the post, because Leal promised his current employer they would get 60-days notice.
