ST. JOSEPH COUNTY, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – St. Joseph County deputies responded to the area of Big Hill Rd and Lafayette Road in Fawn River Township on Wednesday, April 12 around 12 p.m. in reference to a weapons offense.
According to authorities, the original caller reported running from a male that fired a gun before disconnecting the call.
Through investigation, deputies were able to identify a 43-year-old Sturgis man as the suspect.
The suspect was located at his residence in the 63000 block of West Fish Lake Road, where he was taken into custody without further incident. He was lodged at the St. Joseph County Jail awaiting arraignment on several felony weapons and drug related charges.
The Sheriff’s Office was assisted on scene by the Sturgis Police Department and Michigan State Police.
