KALAMAZOO TOWNSHIP, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – Kalamazoo Township Manager Dexter Mitchell is reportedly under investigation by Michigan State Police.
Troopers have confirmed Mitchell is considered a suspect in one of their investigations, but have not said anything about what they are looking into.
He was not arrested and left township offices Monday on his own to help officers in their investigation at another undisclosed location.
According to the township’s website, Dexter oversees the daily operations of the Township and enforces the policies adopted by the Township Board. His duties include supervising all Township departments, preparing an annual budget, and appointing employees.
Before his current position as Township Manager, Dexter worked for 12 years at Buena Vista Charter Township as the Township Manager and the Parks and Recreation Director.
