VAN BUREN COUNTY, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — A water main break has prompted a boil water advisory for a portion of South Haven.
According to the South Haven Area Water Sewer Authority, a water main joint failed while crews were replacing a hydrant at the corner of Broadway and Huron Streets on Friday, April 7, which resulted in low pressure or no water in the area.
Officials with the SHAWSA say water infrastructure repairs can cause a drop in pressure which can allow bacteria to enter the system, which in turn can prompt an advisory.
Information on when the advisory is expected to be lifted has not been released at this time.
