BATTLE CREEK, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — A Battle Creek homeowner escaped unharmed after their garage caught on fire late Sunday evening, April 9.
Firefighters got the call to respond to what was described as a fully involved garage fire at 55 Riverview Avenue around 11 p.m.
Once on scene, crews were able to extinguish the garage fire and check the home for exposure.
After an hour, authorities determined there was no significant damage to the home, but say the fire caused around $25,000 dollars in damage to the garage and it’s contents.
It’s believed the fire was caused by sparks from power equipment.
