KALAMAZOO, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – Today is the opening day for a new brew pub in downtown Kalamazoo.
Saugatuck Brewing Company-Kalamazoo is holding a press conference and ribbon cutting beginning at 11:30 a.m. at the Peregrine Peninsula Building at 200 East Michigan Avenue. It is the site of the former Olde Peninsula Brewpub and Restaurant that closed in July 2021.
In 2019 Gonzo’s BiggDogg Brewing at 140 South Westnedge Avenue became Saugatuck Brewing Company–Kalamazoo. That location has now been closed as the new downtown Kalamazoo location opens.
Saugatuck Brewing Company first opened its doors June 23, 2005 as a small, intimate, start-up brewery in Douglas, Michigan. In 2008, SBC moved the entire operation to the 25,000 square foot facility that now serves as the headquarters, brewery, warehouse, and Pub and Brew House. In 2021 SBC acquired Creston Brewery in Grand Rapids, Michigan.
Saugatuck Brewing Company beer is distributed to 12 states and five foreign countries.
New Holland Brewing Company opened its new downtown Battle Creek location on Michigan Avenue March 31.
