BATTLE CREEK, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — Calhoun County Sheriff’s deputies along with multiple other agencies worked together to detain, and arrest a Battle Creek man on Saturday, April 8 for breaking and entering.
According to the Calhoun County Sheriff’s Office, deputies were called to respond to a breaking and entering in progress in the 200 block of Hopkins Street in Pennfield.
Upon arrival, deputies made contact with the 25-year-old subject who was inside of a vacant residence. When contact contact was made, the suspect fled from the residence and ran northbound into the Bailey Park Apartment complex.
Springfield City deputies, along with the Battle Creek Police Department and Calhoun County Consolidated Dispatch established a perimeter to catch the suspect. Deputies on scene were soon alerted by citizens that the suspect was attempting to break into a vehicle on the property.
The suspect was taken into custody and lodged at the Calhoun County Jail without further incident.
