KALAMAZOO, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – Kalamazoo City Commissioners plan a meet and greet Wednesday with their latest list of finalists for the City Attorney’s post.
They went through the process late last year with a search firm and offered the job to local Oshtemo Township Attorney James Porter, but he subsequently declined the job for undisclosed personal reasons.
This time the city’s Human Resources Department did the search and the three finalists are Aaron Leal, the current City Attorney in Royal Oak, Lewis Smith, the former Attorney for the Wayne County Integrated Health Services, and Ivar Steins, who is on the Detroit City Attorney’s staff.
At their meeting tonight, the Commission is scheduled to set a public meet and greet session with the finalists for 4:00 p.m. Wednesday and interviews on Thursday.
