KALAMAZOO, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — The Township of Kalamazoo Police Department put the brakes on a break-in of a Kalamazoo area business early Thursday morning, March 9.
Officers were called to the 2600 block of Douglass Avenue a few minutes before 2 a.m. where they located a suspicious vehicle in the parking lot of a closed business.
Before officers were able to make contact with the vehicle it fled the area. Officers then located a subject breaking into the business. The suspect fled on foot after being discovered, but was quickly taken into custody.
The second suspect who was driving the get-away car was later located a short distance away and arrested on related charges.
Police arrested a 44-year-old Kalamazoo County male and a 47-year-old Gratiot County female, who are now lodged in the Kalamazoo County Jail.
This case remains under investigation, and is being forwarded to the Kalamazoo County Prosecutors Officer for review of criminal charges.
