KALAMAZOO, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — The cause of an early Wednesday morning structure fire in Kalamazoo is under investigation.
Kalamazoo Department of Public Safety officers responded to the 600 block of Gibson Street around 6 a.m. on Wednesday, March 8 and observed smoke coming from a commercial structure.
Responders then entered the building and brought the fire under control within 20 minutes. It was reported by KDPS earlier that the structure was vacant at time, but MLive reported later that there was a squatter inside of the building.
The cause of the fire is not yet known and is under investigation by the Fire Marshal’s office.
