CASSOPOLIS, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – A suspect sought in a February 27th bank robbery in Cassopolis has been arrested in Indiana.
Village of Cassopolis Police Chief Todd McMichael reports that the man was taken into custody Friday by the South Bend Police Department.
The suspect, whose name is being withheld pending arraignment, is being held in the St Joseph County, IN, jail until his extradition to Michigan.
CASSOPOLIS, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — Authorities are searching for the man who robbed the Fifth Third Bank in the village of Cassopolis on Monday, February 27.
According to Cassopolis Police Chief Todd McMichael, the suspect entered the bank at 116 South Broadway just before 4 p.m. Once inside, the suspect demanded cash from a bank teller. After filling plastic grocery bags with cash, the suspect left on foot, wearing a motorcycle helmet and sandals, and headed south on Broadway Street.
The suspect is described as an older white male, last seen wearing a brown t-shirt, black sweatpants and sandals. They are asking anyone with information on this incident to call the Cass County Sheriff’s Office Tip Line at 800-462-9328.
