KALAMAZOO, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – The Kalamazoo Public Schools Board of Education will hold a special meeting tonight to pick an executive search firm as they look for a new superintendent.
They have interviewed four firms over the past week and received their proposals. The board has set a budget of $28,000 for the search.
Two of the four firms haven’t done many searches for Michigan clients. That may be a factor.
Trustees have made it clear they want a firm that can deliver a diverse pool of applicants, and that they want be able to make some of the reference calls themselves.
Most of the trustees were on board for the search that resulted in the hiring of Dr. Rita Raichoudhuri two years ago, and say they will be building on that experience this time.
Tonight’s session begins at 6:00 pm at the School Administration Building.
