KALAMAZOO, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – The disappearance of 35-year-old Heather Kelley of Portage is now being investigated as a murder.
Kelley is the mother of eight kids and has not been seen since December 10 of last year, with a cousin finding her car burning on East Michigan Avenue near Sprinkle Road the next day.
The Kalamazoo County Sheriff’s Office says her blood was found inside the car after the fire was put out along with long human hair, and her clothes were found nearby.
Kelley’s 37-year-old boyfriend is jailed in Newaygo County on a federal hold after he was found in that area after removing his tether and escaping from the K-PEP halfway house where he had stayed since his release from federal prison last summer.
