PAW PAW, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — A fire struck a Van Buren County business, got extinguished by firefighters, and then rekindled itself a few hours later.
It happened early Tuesday morning, January 24 at Lucky Girl Brewery in Paw Paw on the corner of M-43 and M-40.
The Van Buren County Sheriff’s Office was called out to the brewery fire around 12:25 a.m. which was contained and put out just over an hour later at 1:30 a.m. But by 4 a.m., the fire had rekindled itself.
Firefighters were called out again to fight the second fire which according to authorities was much worse than the first one.
The Paw Paw Fire Chief officially called the building a total loss around 7 a.m.
The Van Buren County Sheriff’s Office went onto say that while it was too early to tell if foul play is involved, preliminary investigation showed that the fire may have started in the electric panel on west side of the building.
