KALAMAZOO, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – Kalamazoo City Commissioners will start from scratch on a search for a new city attorney, after the candidate they selected to replace Clyde Robinson bowed out earlier this month.
Robinson had planned to begin retirement six months ago, but it took a long time to do the search and so he stuck around. Commissioners were concerned that they might be inconveniencing him by making him stay on another six months, but Robinson says he doesn’t mind. He grew up in Kalamazoo’s Vine neighborhood and he has cleared it with his wife.
Robinson will also be receiving a hefty salary increase and a retention bonus, just to sweeten the deal.
