KALAMAZOO, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — As we first reported earlier last week, the Kalamazoo Schools Interim Superintendent says she intends to carry on the initiatives of her predecessor, and put the focus back on the students. Cindy Green says while programs that improve the climate and the culture in the schools had been introduced, they need to put the primary focus back on what happens in the classroom.
Green says this also includes the Careers Pathways program, a new effort to begin preparing students for the world of work in early elementary grades.
She also says one area she hopes to improve on is communications.
Green says her final task will be to make sure the transition is smooth for the next superintendent, whenever that new person joins the district.
