KALAMAZOO, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — Kalamazoo Department of Public Safety police are investigating after responding to a 911 call about an unresponsive baby who later died at the hospital.
Authorities say a 911 call was made on Wednesday, January 11 about an unresponsive young child at a home on East Stockbridge Avenue. CPR was initiated on the child who was then taken to Bronson Hospital.
Multiple neighbors on scene told police that a child was taken out of the home by a man who was frantically running. One of the witnesses told police, “”I heard some yelling, heard a woman on the phone, and a young man came out carrying the child — in a blanket — running toward the railroad tracks.”
Detectives then went door-to-door asking residents if they had seen anything related to the incident.
Kalamazoo Department of Public Safety confirmed the child died at the hospital.
The child’s age is unknown at this time, and so far, police have not released any information on suspects or what they believe led up to the baby’s death.
