BATTLE CREEK, MI (WNWN/WTVB) – The Village Network of Battle Creek announced on Tuesday that 10 non-profit agencies will share $1-point-5 million as part of an effort to increase racial diversity.
The United Way of Battle Creek and Kalamazoo will be distributing the funds which are being made possible by the American Rescue Plan Act and the W.K. Kellogg Foundation.
The Village Network of Battle Creek is a coalition of local nonprofits who they say are working towards a new vision for equity and accessibility in Battle Creek.
The local organizations that are part of the Village Network range from faith-based to athletic-based leadership development.
It was stated on their Facebook page, “Through community organizing, events, and resources, we plan to work with members of the Battle Creek community to create a better present and future for all residents.”
