LAINGSBURG, MI — A pair of baseball fields used by Laingsburg youth baseball were vandalized sometime over the weekend, according to a Facebook post. Published photos of the incident show a vehicle was driven on outfield and infield portions of the fields creating large ruts.
The Little League fields, which had been recently renovated, are part of a four field complex at Bates Scout Park. The damaged fields, which are owned by the city of Laingsburg, host under-14 and under-10 games.
A spokesman for Laingsburg Youth Baseball Team told media partner Six News WLNS in Lansing the damage is “pretty significant.” Repairs to the fields are expected to begin in the spring.
