KALAMAZOO, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — A GoFundMe page has been set up to help with medical expenses for a Kalamazoo police officer who is battling Crohn’s Disease. Officer
Beth Fountain was diagnosed with Crohn’s last year and is set to have her 13th surgery on Friday, January 6 and has another procedure scheduled for February 14, Valentines Day.
Because of her illness, Fountain has used all her paid leave with the city.
“Beth had no choice, but to recently take FMLA leave a week before Christmas due to her Crohn’s. She is now without income through the end of April 2023,” said Fountain’s aunt Tina Bruni.
And because of this, Bruni started a GoFundMe to help with medical expenses, with more than $4,600 being raised in two days.

I just wanted to wish you well. I also live with crohn’s disease and have had over 20 surgeries. 15 was in 2 years. It got so bad I ended up having to go on disability. So I no longer work. Many days are good but many days I struggle. My thoughts are with you.
Not sure if my first message went through or not but I just wanted to let you know I’m thinking of you. I know your struggle. I’ve had Crohn’s disease for more than 50 years. 20 surgeries 15 and 2 years. I understand this disabilitating disease
