LEE TOWNSHIP, MI (WNWN/WTVB) – The driver of a school bus and a child were injured Tuesday afternoon in a crash involving a Dean Transportation school bus and a passenger vehicle.
The Calhoun County Sheriff’s Office says deputies were dispatched to 23 Mile and R Drive North in Lee Township at about 3:00 p.m. for a rollover accident.
Several occupants, including children, were located in the overturned school bus by deputies.
All the occupants of the school bus were able to be safely removed. The driver of the passenger vehicle was also removed from the vehicle. No other occupants were in the passenger vehicle.
The injured school bus driver and child were taken to the nearest hospital for further medical assessment. No other injuries were reported.
The Sheriff’s Office did not state in a news release which district the bus belonged to. They were assisted by Marshall Area Fire Ambulance Service, Charlotte Ambulance Service as well as fire departments from Marengo and Bellevue.
