BATTLE CREEK, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — Battle Creek Police have filed multiple felony charges against a 30-year-old man following an incident that started as a domestic situation call at The Arbors apartments off Capital Avenue SW.
Officers responded around 12:30 a.m. to Oakbrook Boulevard in The Arbors where a man and woman were inside the apartment. Authorities say he choked her and put a gun to her head, threatening to kill her. She was able to leave the apartment and make contact with police, and officers locked down the apartment.
The BCPD Emergency Response Team searched the apartment building, and found the man had already left. Police did however, find the gun inside the apartment, and do not consider the man a threat to the public.
Police have requested a warrant for the man’s arrest, filing charges that include kidnapping, felonious assault, and felony firearm.
