LANSING, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — State Representative Julie Rogers (D-Kalamazoo) honored veterans at a Wreaths Across America ceremony at the Michigan Capitol on Monday, December 12. This marks the second annual wreath-laying ceremony Rogers has attended at the Capitol.
“It’s important to remember those who have served in our Armed Forces year-round, not just on Veterans’ Day and Memorial Day,” said Rogers. “The winter holiday season can be especially tough for families who have lost loved ones. I am grateful to be a part of this effort and to recognize their sacrifice.”
Rogers also serves as the Democratic vice chair of the House Committee on Military, Veterans and Homeland Security.
Wreaths Across America is a nonprofit organization honoring veterans with annual wreath-laying events at Arlington National Cemetery and more than 3,500 locations across the United States.
