PORTAGE, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — The Portage City Council approved tentative plans for 38 new single-family homes at the existing Copperleaf Planned Development earlier last week.
According to MLive, following a November 18 unanimous vote by the city’s planning commission to recommend approval, the city council approved tentative plans for the project on Tuesday, December 6. The project is located at 3800 West Milham Avenue.
The homes are a part of the final phase of a Westview Capital, LLC, development that was initially approved in 2013.
According to the city’s planning department, Landrum Street is expected to be extended to the intersection of Copperleaf Trail and Byram Circle.
Officials say overall plans call for a total of 204 single-family detached homes of 1- and 2-story floor plans spread across 74 acres.
The first phase was built out in 2015 with 60 single-family homes hitting the market.
