KALAMAZOO, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — Kalamazoo County Sheriff’s deputies arrested a Three Rivers man for Fleeing and Eluding and Possession of a Stolen Vehicle.
It happened around 9 a.m. on Tuesday, December 5 in Pavilion Township when deputies observed a vehicle reported stolen out of Portage traveling east on N Avenue near South 29th Street.
The vehicle fled at a high rate of speed at a high rate of speed southbound on South 29th Street when deputies ordered the driver to stop.
The driver then abandoned the stolen car in the 9000 block of East O Avenue and ran on foot into a wooded area. The 35-year-old suspect was located by a K-9 in a heavily wooded area west of the address and taken into custody.
The Kalamazoo County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by both the Kalamazoo and Portage Department of Public Safety.
The suspect was lodged at the Kalamazoo County Jail on multiple charges.
