KALAMAZOO, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – Talks are scheduled to resume Thursday, but unionized nurses at Ascension Borgess Hospital have voted to allow their contract bargaining team the ability to call for a strike if a contract isn’t worked out.
Union members remain upset by guaranteed leave policies and health retirement accounts being taken away in the hospital’s latest offer.
They would have to give a ten-day notice if they strike. 86% voted in favor of allowing for a strike to be called.
