KALAMAZOO, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — A man was sentenced in Kalamazoo County Court on Monday, December 5, one month after a jury found him guilty on 16 charges related to a Kalamazoo strip club shooting.
Joshua Liggins was sentenced to 22 years in prison, up to 40 years, for the October 2, 2021 shooting in the Deja Vu Strip Club parking lot.
Liggins was convicted on eight counts of assault with intent to murder and eight counts of felony firearms in October of this year.
According to probable cause documents, Liggens fired shots at a group of teenagers in a Ford pickup truck when leaving the club. Court documents also indicated that the shooting stemmed from an argument between Liggins and one of the teens, with surveillance video identifying him as the suspect.
