KALAMAZOO, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — The Association of Fundraising Professionals West Michigan Chapter has awarded the Bronson Health Foundation for it’s excellence in Fundraising.
The award was presented to the BHF team during a National Philanthropy Day event at the Amway Grand Plaza in Grand Rapids on Thursday, November 17.
As the team received recognition for it’s support to patients, families, and employees, they were also commended for the foundation’s first capital campaign, which raised $10.4 million for Bronson’s regional cancer care program, exceeding it’s goal by 30%.
Also highlighted was the foundation’s launch of the COVID-19 Rapid Response Fund which brought together more than $2.2 million to assist employees with childcare needs, appreciation meals, respite items and more. According to officials with the foundation, the funds also assisted with facility upgrades, patient support, and medical equipment that Bronson hospitals and clinics needed to meet the community’s needs during the pandemic.
They went onto say that all community donations received by the Bronson Health Foundation directly support programs within the Bronson Healthcare system.
“We are very honored to receive this recognition,” said Terry Morrow, president of Bronson Health Foundation. “Our goal is to make sure our community has ways to partner with Bronson providers and clinical teams to enhance the healthcare experience and make it more accessible and equitable for all. We are grateful for the support and leadership of our board of directors and for the vital collaborations we have with individuals, organizations, and foundations who share in our mission to advance the health of our communities.”
