ALLEGAN COUNTY, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — An Allegan County lottery club is now the lucky winner of more than eight-hundred-thousand dollars in the Michigan Lottery’s Mega Money Match game.
According to a news release from the Michigan Lottery, the three-person Bunker Hill Lottery club won the $862,958 jackpot their third time playing the Lottery together. The winning ticket was purchased at Bunker Hill Chill & Grill, located at 4203 30th Street in Dorr, which is about 20 miles south of Grand Rapids.
“We recently formed our Lottery club, and this was only our third time playing together,” said the club’s representative. “We were at the restaurant for quite a while playing Fast Cash games because the jackpot was so big. We would each throw in money to purchase a ticket and then I would scan the ticket on my Lottery app to see if we won. When I scanned one of the tickets and confetti came up on the screen with the winning amount, I was speechless. I slid my phone across the table to show the other two club members and none of us could believe it. We were so excited but tried to stay calm so that other people in the restaurant wouldn’t catch on to how much we won. It has been such an exciting, overwhelming, and fun experience!”
The club recently visited Lottery headquarters to claim the prize. With their winnings, each of the club members plans to pay bills and travel.
In 2021, players won more than $54 million playing Fast Cash games, which may be purchased at 10,500 retailers across the state.
