KALAMAZOO, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — The Salvation Army of Kalamazoo is again seeking help for Christmas toys this year through their annual “Angel Tree” campaign.
The campaign is running now through Friday, December 9.
Toys collected will be distributed during their “Toy Shop”event, December 14 – 16 at their Community Center.
Businesses, churches, schools, organizations, and individuals can sign up at http://www.centralusa.salvationarmy.org/wmni/angel-tree-host/ to be an Angel Tree host during the campaign and collect, purchase, and deliver unwrapped toys to their Community Center.
Last year, over 1,700 children received toys with over 8,000 toys distributed.
“Kalamazoo continues to show it’s generosity by providing toys for children who otherwise would go without”, said Captain Ronnie Amick, Kalamazoo Salvation Army corps officer. “Angel Tree and our Toy Shop event are long-standing traditions in our communities and we are blessed to make sure children have toys to open on Christmas morning, especially during difficult economic times like we are experiencing this year”.
