BATTLE CREEK, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — Police have arrested a suspect they believe was involved in the fatal shooting of a Battle Creek man on Tuesday, October 25.
According to Battle Creek police, a charge on the suspect is expected to be submitted in the next few days.
36-year-old William Michael Wilson was shot multiple times around 1:20 a.m. Tuesday morning in the area of Warren Street near Oak Hill Cemetery. Police responded after neighbors in the area heard gunshots and called 911.
Officers found Wilson lying in the yard of a home with multiple gunshot wounds, and tried to give him medical help before LifeCare Ambulance arrived. Wilson died after being taken to Bronson Battle Creek Hospital.
Authorities say Wilson’s murder is not believed to be connected to the 2012 homicide where Wilson was initially charged with the murder of Joseph Flowers. Wilson would later plead no contest to weapons charges in 2017.
