KALAMAZOO, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – With the public health emergency waning and COVID-19 testing and vaccines now widely available in the region, officials with Bronson Healthcare say they will be closing their COVID-19 drive-thru testing locations effective Wednesday, October 26, 2022.
In March 2020, the Bronson Healthcare system redirected staff and laboratory resources from hospital-based specimen collection and testing to staffing drive-thru COVID-19 testing sites near each hospital. After two years of curbside service, 75,000 of the 350,000 COVID-19 tests performed by Bronson Lab were collected at the drive-thru locations.
The final day for COVID-19 testing appointments will be Tuesday, October 25, 2022, at these drive-thru locations: Bronson Methodist Hospital in Kalamazoo, Bronson LakeView Outpatient Center in Paw Paw and Bronson Lab – Oakridge in Battle Creek.
Bronson continues to operate free COVID-19 Vaccine Clinics in the region and walk-in Vaccination Stations at its hospitals.
Information on vaccine locations and how to schedule an appointment can be found at https://www.bronsonhealth.com/coronavirus-covid-19/vaccine/.
