KALAMAZOO MI (WKZO AM/FM) – The Kalamazoo County Sheriff’s Department continues to investigate an accident early Sunday morning that injured two people.
Deputies responded at around 3:30 am to the report of an one vehicle accident in Oshtemo Township.
Upon arrival, they discovered that a vehicle had apparently left W. KL Ave near Copper Beech Blvd., struck a tree, and rolled over.
The driver, a 30-year-old man, suffered serious but non-life threatening injuries.
A passenger, a 31 year old female, suffered critical life-threatening injuries.
Both victims were transported to an area hospital for treatment.
Authorities say that a preliminary investigation indicates that speed and alcohol may have been factors in the accident.
It is also believed that the vehicle may have been involved in a hit-and-run accident near Howard St. shortly before the accident in Oshtemo.
Anyone that may have witnessed or has additional information about this incident is asked to contact the Kalamazoo County Sheriff’s Office or Silent Observer.
