MASON, MI — A seven month investigation by the Ingham County Sheriff’s Department, including a forensic audit, has resulted in embezzlement charges against the former Webberville village treasurer.
Jaymee Hord, 52, has been charged by the Ingham County Prosecutor with one count of embezzlement between $50,000-$100,000, which is a 15 year felony.
A routine financial audit of city finances in March 2022 revealed some irregularities, according to a press release. The Webberville village president notified the village attorney who then notified the Ingham County Sheriff’s Office to begin a criminal investigation.
Hord, a current resident of Owosso, was arraigned on Friday in the 55th District Court and given a personal recognizance bond. Her next court date is scheduled for November 1, 2022.
