EAST LANSING, MI — The three year run for Michigan State University President Samuel Stanley has ended. The school’s leader made the announcement Thursday moring. Stanley says he submitted his resignation to the MSU Board of the Trustees.
Stanley said in a video message released Thursday morning that he and the school’s faculty senate has lost confidence int he school’s board of trustees to lead the school and that he can no longer serve as president.
It became clear in September that at least several members of the board of trustees were unhapy with Stanley and were seeking his resignation for his handling of Title IV paperwork and the firing of the business school’s dean Sanjay Gupta.
