KALAMAZOO, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — Southwest Michigan’s premiere modern dance company Wellspring/Cori Terry & Dancers in downtown Kalamazoo, announced the donation of $250,000 by Bell’s Brewery founder Larry Bell. The announcement was made in a news release from the company on Monday, October 10.
According to the dance company’s founder Cori Terry, Bell’s donation will be matched by the community as part of Wellspring’s Sustainability Plan.
To date, nearly $316,000 has been committed towards the fund goal of $500,000.
In a statement regarding his donation, Bell said, “Access to dance, music, theater and the visual arts makes Kalamazoo a better place to live and a better environment to attract and retain great employees. Having a professional modern dance company of this caliber is a true testament to the city’s sophisticated arts scene, and to founder Cori Terry’s leadership and deep commitment—not every city can boast about having their own thriving modern dance company.”
