KALAMAZOO, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — A Reproductive and Women’s Rights March is scheduled for this weekend on Sunday, October 9, from 1 to 3:3o p.m.
Participants will gather up at Bronson Park in Kalamazoo at 200 South Rose Street.
Event organizers say the event may be attended by Michigan’s Attorney General, Dana Nessel and most likely other VIPs.
Along with musical entertainment, a number of community leaders are expected to speak at the event to include: Tracy Hall (OutFront), Sherry Brockway (YWCA), Dr. Janice Werbinski (OB-GYN), Emily Smith, Rabbi Estrin, Reverend Fisher, and more.
The event will include ASL interpretation.
Participants for the event are encouraged to bring signs, bring friends, and wear blue to signify a collective blue tsunami standing up for reproductive rights on November 8.
Participants are instructed to respect all local traffic laws around the park, stay on sidewalks, use designated crosswalks during the march, follow current Kalamazoo County Health Department and CDC guidelines for COVID, stay home if sick, and practice social distancing at the event. #kzooridethewave
