KALAMAZOO, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — A three-sibling double murder case: one acquitted, one convicted, and one leaving jail.
As the youngest sibling, Tikario Taylor-McMillion was found not guilty by a jury last week, his sister Tonesha now expected to be released from jail as of Monday, October 3.
According to police, the sister served as the getaway driver in the double murder of Katoya McPherson and Floyd Brashers. The couple was shot to death in their Kalamazoo Township apartment in December of 2020.
For her part, she agreed to plead guilty to accessory of the fact and serve 19 months in jail. During the trial, Tonesha told the joury that her brother, Tikario, confessed he shot both McPherson and Brashers.
Tikario’s second murder trial took place last week after his first trial ended in a mistrial in March after his brother, D’Angelo Davis backed out of a plea deal. Davis was sentenced to life in prison back in June for the murders.
