KALAMAZOO, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — A Kalamazoo man accused of throwing a Molotov cocktail at a police cruiser has been identified by police.
According to Kalamazoo Department of Public Safety officers, 30-year-old Roger Summers threw the cocktail while it was parked on East Walnut Street on Saturday, September 17.
Summers was arrested on multiple charges after witnesses pointed him out to authorities.
- count one: explosives, placing near property causing property damage
- count two: explosives, possession of Molotov cocktail/other explosives
- count three: malicious destruction of fire or police property
- count four: assaulting, resisting, or obstructing a police officer
- count five: arson, $1,000 to $20,000
The fire, which was put out by bystanders with extinguishers, cause minor damage to the cruiser which was unoccupied at the time.
A probably cause conference is scheduled for Wednesday, September 28 with a preliminary exam a week later, Wednesday, October 5.
