KALAMAZOO, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — Kalamazoo Department of Public Safety police arrested a man on Saturday, September 17 for throwing a “Molotov Cocktail” at one of their unoccupied vehicles.
According to authorities, officers responded to the 100 block of East Walnut Street around 4:20 p.m. after a male was seen throwing the cocktail at the police vehicle.
Several witnesses reported the suspect, who had thrown the device, was seen fleeing the area on foot.
Witnesses then followed the suspect and guided officers to his whereabouts.
The patrol car suffered minor damage by the fire that was put out by bystanders in the area using fire extinguishers.
The suspect, a 30-year-old Kalamazoo man, was arrested and lodged at the Kalamazoo County Jail on multiple felony charges.
