PORTAGE, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — Portage Parks & Recreation is inviting the public out for it’s Fall Festival on Sunday, September 18, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Celery Flats Historical Area, 7335 Garden Lane.
Festival organizers say the buildings at the Celery Flats Historical Area will be open for tours along with historical demonstrations such as rope making, broom making, quilt making, glass blowing, pottery, woodturning, and blacksmithing.
The event will also feature a Farm & Petting Zoo with a collection of farm animals, including Roscoe the camel.
Horse-drawn carriage rides will run every 30 minutes from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., with limited space, from the Celery Flats Historical Area to the Portage Farmers Market at City Hall.
Musical entertainment will also be provided at the event which is free and open to the public.
Parking will be available at Celery Flats auxiliary and grass lots, City Hall, Zhang Portage Community Senior Center, and Portage Community Center.
