KALAMAZOO, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – The evacuations are over in Kalamazoo after a gas line ruptured and then caught fire yesterday.
Kalamazoo Department of Public Safety officials say a crew hit the four-inch gas line and flames 20 to 30-feet high were seen for hours. Everyone within a block of the leak at Lake and Mills streets had to evacuate as the gas burned off.
The evacuation order was canceled around 8:00 p.m. Thursday.
