BATTLE CREEK, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — A Battle Creek man is in jail on several charges after leading police on a chase in a stolen vehicle.
Authorities say it happened Wednesday afternoon, September 7, when an Emmett Township Department of Public Safety officer tried to pull a vehicle over for speeding down East Columbia Avenue, but the vehicle fled.
The 25-year-old driver later stopped the vehicle and started running, but was arrested by the officer on East Columbia Avenue near the Cliff Street access.
Besides discovering that the vehicle had been stolen out of Wisconsin, police also discovered that the man had a stolen handgun.
The driver now facing several charges to include, possession of a stolen vehicle, possession of a stolen handgun, felon in possession of a firearm, resisting and obstructing, driving on a suspended license along with multiple warrants.
