KALAMAZOO, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — A portion of I-94 near Kalamazoo closed earlier Monday morning due to a crash involving two cars and a semi-truck.
The Kalamazoo County Sheriff’s Office says the crash happened around 3:30 a.m. Monday, August 15, in the eastbound lanes at mile marker 84 in Comstock Township.
Upon investigating, Sheriff’s Deputies found that two passenger cars, as well as a semi were involved in a collision with reports of entrapment.
According to a Comstock Township Department of Fire and Rescue Facebook post, one person had to be extricated from one of the vehicles.
Multiple occupants from passenger cars were taken to Bronson Hospital for care.
One lane of eastbound I-94 after Srpinkle Road, Exit 80, was reopened shortly before 6 a.m. after all lanes were closed for nearly two hours. Authorities say the cause of the accident is still being determined.
