JACKSON, MI (WTVB) – Consumers Energy restoration efforts are expected to wrap up on Friday after nearly 88,000 customers lost their power due to the Wednesday storms in southern lower Michigan.
There were still about 8,000 outages as of early Friday morning.
Everyone in Calhoun County is back on line while there were about 1,300 customers in Kalamazoo County without power.
Almost 1,300 customers were out in Barry County while another 276 were off line in Hillsdale County.
Jackson County had the most outages on Friday morning with 2,751 customers still in the dark.
Over 230 crews have helped to restore power.
“We are grateful for the patience of our customers who count on us, and we want to reward that patience by working around the clock until we restore power to everyone,” said Guy Packard, Consumers Energy’s officer in charge for today’s power restoration work. “Our crews are committed to the final stretch of the work from this storm and plan to finish the job Friday.”
