KALAMAZOO, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — One person was shot, and two others were injured during a home invasion Friday night, July 29.
The Kalamazoo County Sheriff’s office working to piece together of what exactly took place when shots were fired during the incident that happened 11:48 p.m. at Gull Run Apartments in in Comstock Township.
When deputies arrived, they quickly determined that a home invasion had taken place.
No one was in the apartment when deputies responded to the address at 5800 block of Sandalwood Drive, but learned that two people later arrived at Borgess Hospital with blunt force trauma injuries related to the invasion.
Investigators say a suspect with a gunshot wound also arrived at the hospital, with evidence suggesting that they were shot by the residents of the apartment. Authorities believe this to be a targeted attack and that the suspect and residents of the apartment knew each other.
The investigation is ongoing and police believe there is no threat to the public.
